Installing Resonite

The UniFesta Idea will be held at Resonite!
The entire process from creation to submission of the exhibit is done on Resonite.

Therefore, Resonite must be installed on your computer in order to attend/submit.
Let's install Resonite first!

1. Go to the official Resonite website.
   
2. Click the "Download on Steam" button to access the Steam store page and install the game.
   When the installation is complete, press Play to start the game.
   
   
3. Choose play Resonite (VR) or screen (desktop).
   (Please wait a little while for text and audio to be heard during initial startup.)
   
4. Press the [Start!] button to set it up for the first time.
   
5. Default Language is selected, so just press Next to proceed.
   
6. Select the audio input device (microphone) and press Next to proceed.
   
7. Select the appropriate preferences and press Next to proceed.
   You can change the settings on this screen later.
   
8. If you have a Resonite account, select "I have an account" and log in.
   If you do not have Resonite, please proceed to Create Account.
   (Please note that you can start the game without an account by selecting Continue without an account, but you cannot add friends, use avatars, or save items.)
   
9. Follow the on-screen instructions for user registration.
   *You can also transfer NeosVR information by registering the NeosVR username and email address.
   
10. You're ready! Let's start the tutorial!
    
11. You can learn basic operations in the tutorial world.

How to Open the UniFesta Idea Venue World

All operations for exhibiting and viewing at UniFesta Idea are conducted on Resonite.
If you have not yet run Resonite, please refer to the "Resonite Installation" page and start Resonite.

1. Please open the dash menu.
   For Desktop, use the ESC key. For VR controllers, use any button to open it.
   
2. Please select the "World" tab at the bottom.
   
3. In "All Worlds," please enter "UniFesta" in the search field.
   "UniFesta Idea" will appear in the search results.
   
4. Open the "UniFesta Idea" thumbnail from the search results and press "Start Session."
   

   Note: If opening privately
   To open privately, press the "→" button, select "New Session," press "Change Settings and Start Session," choose "Private (Invite Only)," and then press "Start Session."

   
   

   Following these steps will allow you to open the UniFesta Idea venue world.

5. Granting Host Access
   When logging into the world, you may be asked for host access permission.
   This is to allow UniPocket installed in the world to access an external database.
   Please press the "Allow" button.
   On Desktop, you can press the ESC key to open the dash menu and press the button.

   If you accidentally press "Deny," press the "Debug" button in the lower right corner of the "Home" tab in the dash menu, press "RemoveSetting" for "app.uni-pocket.com" in the "WebHost" tab to clear the settings, and then re-enter the world.

   

How to View Exhibited Works

UniFesta Idea uses a tool called UniPocket to view the exhibited works.
There are two ways to start UniPocket:

(1) Install UniPocket on your avatar
Please refer to the "UniPocket Installation & Startup Method" page and proceed with the installation and startup.
Once installed, you can enjoy UniFesta Idea using UniPocket not only in the dedicated world but anywhere!

(2) Use UniPocket in the venue world
Please refer to the "How to Open the Venue World" page and open the venue world. UniPocket is located in front of the fountain at the back of the world.

The following explains how to view the exhibits of UniFesta Idea after starting UniPocket.

Method to View Exhibits

1. Please start UniPocket.
   If already installed, open the context menu and select "UniPocket."
   If you are viewing in the venue world, a UniPocket will be set up in front of the fountain at the back, so proceed directly to step 2.
2. Press the "UniFesta Idea" button on the "Home" tab.
   A list of items will be displayed with the "UniFesta" tag, indicating that they are exhibits.
3. You can filter items using tags or strings in the search field.
   Multiple tags can be selected, and only items that meet all criteria will be displayed.
   The "UniFestaIdea" tag is selected by default.
   
4. Click on the item you want to view to display its details.
   
5. Press the "Acquire" button to spawn the item.
   Enjoy the various items created by different creators!

   If you chose a world item, a world orb will spawn. Click the world orb and open the world.
   Favorite items can be saved to your inventory from the "Save" option in the context menu.

   
6. Creator Link
   Clicking on the creator's name will display their profile and a list of items they have created. Explore their works and discover new forms of creation.
7. Entering Comments
   Press the "+" button in the lower right to enter comments.
   Comments are greatly encouraging for the creators. Please, feel free to share your thoughts.
   
8. In Case You Find Inappropriate Items
   If you find an inappropriate item, press the triangular button in the author's section to open Discord and send a message to the organizing committee. We will review and respond appropriately.
   

UniFesta Idea is a unique event with the same duration for the exhibition and submission period. This means new works are added daily.
After you finish viewing, take a break and then revisit. You are likely to find new discoveries and encounters!

UniPocket Installation & Startup Method

UniFesta Idea utilizes a tool called UniPocket for exhibitions and viewing.
Although the event venue world is equipped with a permanent UniPocket, making installation unnecessary for enjoying UniFesta Idea, installing it enables you to use UniPocket at your own home or in worlds you visit, allowing you to enjoy UniFesta Idea anytime, anywhere.
Please follow the steps below to install UniPocket.

UniPocket Installation Method

1. Obtain the installer.
   The installer looks like this.
   

   You can obtain the UniPocket installer in the following ways.

   (1) Using the installer set up in the dedicated world
   Please refer to the "How to Open the Dedicated World" page.

   (2) Getting it shared by someone already using UniPocket
   Search for "UniPocket" in UniPocket, and you will find the installer.
   Alternatively, use the "UniPocket Installer" found in the "Links" tab.

   (3) Copying the following text string and pressing "Paste Clipboard" on the right side of the "Home" tab in the Resonite dash menu
   The installer will spawn within Resonite.

   (4) Download via UniPocket Web version

2. Press the "Install" button on the installer.
   
3. Granting Host Access
   You may be asked for host access permission like the one shown on the screen.
   This is to allow UniPocket to access an external database.
   Press the "Allow" button.
   On Desktop, you can press the ESC key to open the dash menu and press the button.
   

   If you accidentally press "Deny," press the "Debug" button in the lower right corner of the "Home" tab in the dash menu, press "RemoveSetting" for "app.uni-pocket.com" in the "WebHost" tab to clear the settings, and then re-enter the world.

4. Agreeing to the Terms of Use
   Please click the icon on the left of the URL and review the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
   If you find no issues, check the box to agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and then press the "Start UniPocket" button.
   

This completes the installation!
UniPocket is installed on your avatar.
If you save your avatar, you can simply change into it next time to use UniPocket immediately.

How to Start the Installed UniPocket

Open the context menu (ring menu) and press "UniPocket."
This operation will start UniPocket.
On Desktop, pressing the "Q" key will start UniPocket as a shortcut.

Submission Method

UniFesta Idea uses a tool called UniPocket for exhibiting works.
There are two ways to start UniPocket.

(1) Install UniPocket on your avatar
Please refer to the "UniPocket Installation & Startup Method" page, and proceed with the installation and startup.
Once installed, you can use UniPocket not only in the dedicated world but also anywhere else to enjoy UniFesta Idea!

(2) Use UniPocket in the venue world
Please refer to the "How to Open the Venue World" page and open the dedicated world. UniPocket is located near the fountain at the back of the world.

Below is the description of how to exhibit works in UniFesta Idea after starting UniPocket.

Method of Exhibiting Works in UniFesta Idea

You need to authenticate to exhibit items in UniPocket.
If you have not yet authenticated, please refer to the "Account Authentication Method" page and complete the authentication.

Once authenticated, please proceed with the following steps.

Obtaining the Item Code

First, obtain the code for registration.
The process differs depending on whether the item to be registered is "World" or "Non-World."

A: For Non-World Exhibits

• A1. To register an item, the item must be saved in a "shared folder.
  If you already have a shared folder, skip to A4.
• A2. Open the inventory from the dash menu, press the "Create Folder" button, enter a name, and create a folder.
  
• A3. Return to the parent folder, select the folder you created, and press the "Share Folder" button.
  
  
  

  This folder is now a shared folder.
  Shared folders are indicated by a triangle mark in the top right of the folder.

• A4. Save the item you wish to exhibit in the shared folder you created.
  Wait for the synchronization of the save to complete.
  
• A5. With the item you want to exhibit selected, press the "Get URL" button.
  You have now obtained the item code!
  Proceed to the "Registration in UniPocket" process.
  

B: For World Exhibits

• B1. Publish the world you want to exhibit.
  Note: Ensure it is set to be accessible by others.
  World publishing is done by using the "WorldPublisher/Submitter" item in the "Resonite Essentials" of the inventory, placing the orb of the world you want to publish on the pedestal.
  
• B2. Open the world you want to exhibit.
  
• B3. Open the "Settings" tab in the dash menu and press "Copy Record URL."
  
  You have now obtained the world code!
  Proceed to the "Registration in UniPocket" process.

Registration in UniPocket

1. Press the "Item Registration" button on the "My Page" tab in UniPocket.
   
2. Paste the code you obtained earlier into the input field.
   
3. Press the button for the image and enter a description.
   The description field automatically translates into other languages after entering your native language.
   (Please press the icon on the right of the field after entering).
   
4. If there are co-creators, press the button to register them.
   
5. Multiple tags are available.
   Please select the tags that apply to your category.
   (Multiple selections are possible)
   
6. Ensure that the "Register in UniFesta Idea" checkbox is checked, then press the "Complete Editing" btuton.
   

Your exhibit is now complete!
The information is immediately reflected, and your work will now be displayed on other UniPockets.

Modifying, Deleting, and Updating Exhibited Works

This page is intended for those who have already completed their exhibition at UniFesta Idea. If you are about to exhibit, please first check the submission procedure on the "Submission Method" page.

Below is a description of how to modify, delete, and update information for works exhibited in UniFesta Idea after launching UniPocket.

Modifying Information of Exhibited Works

1. Open the "My Page" tab in UniPocket and select the item you want to modify from the registered works.
   
2. After modifying the content, press the "Complete Editing" button.
   This completes the modification of the information.
   

Deleting Exhibited Works

1. Open the "My Page" tab in UniPocket and select the item you wish to modify from the registered works.
   
2. Press the "Delete" button.
   If you are sure, press the delete button again.
   This will delete the registered work.
   

Updating or Replacing Exhibited Works

1. Open the "My Page" tab in UniPocket and select the item you wish to modify from the registered works.
   
2. Press the "Replace Item" button.
   
3. An URL input field will appear, enter the URL for replacement and press "Load."
   Please refer to the "Submission Method" page for how to obtain the URL.
   
4. Press the "Complete Editing" button.
   This will update the registered work with the new content.
   

Method of Account Authentication

UniPocket requires account authentication when registering items or posting comments.
Please authenticate your account using the following method.
Note: Authentication is not required if you are only searching for and retrieving items.

Account Authentication

Account authentication is performed while UniPocket is running.

The procedure differs between the first time and subsequent times you start UniPocket.
Please refer to the relevant section below.

A.For First-Time Authentication

• A1.Open the "My Page" tab.
  
• A2.Press the icon with a key symbol.
  
• A3.Press the "Account Authentication" button.
  
• A4.If an external link warning appears, press "Allow."
  For desktop operations, you can press the "Allow" or "Deny" buttons by opening the dash menu.
  
• A5.A web browser will launch on your PC's desktop, displaying the login screen.
• A6.Confirm that your Resonite username and user ID are entered on the browser screen, then press the "Log in/Register with Resonite" button.
  
• A7.Do not close the web browser. Return to the Resonite screen.
  A friend request from "reso-love-auth" should have arrived; please approve it.
  
• A8.On the web browser screen, press the "Resend Code" button.
  
• A9.A one-time password will be sent to your Resonite friends section.
  Enter this password on the web browser and press the "Login" button.
  
  
  
• A10.If the screen changes to "Logging in," your authentication is successful.
  
• A11.Return to Resonite and press the "Account Authentication" button again.
  
• A12.This completes the authentication process. Well done!
  

B.For Subsequent Starts

• B1.Press the key icon on the My Page and then press the "Account Authentication" button.
  
• B2.If an external link warning appears, press "Allow."
  On the Desktop, you can press the "Allow" or "Deny" buttons by opening the dash menu first.
  
• B3.A web browser will launch on your PC's desktop, displaying the login screen.
  If you are using VR, please operate on the desktop after removing the HMD.
• B4.Enter your Resonite username and user ID, then press the "Log in/Register with Resonite" button.
  If browser cookies are enabled, the information from your first login should be saved, so just press the button.
  
• B5.Return to Resonite and press the "Account Authentication" button again.
  
• B6.This completes the authentication. Return to Resonite and use UniPocket as needed.
  

Note that account authentication is only valid for the duration of that session.

The myriad item worlds in Resonite range from convenient to fun.
Until now, however, there have been limited ways to search and find them.
With UniPocket, you can quickly search by name, author's name, tag and experience the items and world you want.

Who is hosting UniFesta Idea?

It is prepared and held by the UniFesta Idea Executive Committee, a group of volunteers.
